UPSC square application photo
UPSC uses a square working crop with generous KB headroom. Face size and background still matter at verification.
Square frame
Centre the head so the face fills about three quarters of the square. Do not leave wide empty margins — that often fails visual review even when KB is fine.
Background and dress
Plain light background, no shadows or objects. Follow the current UPSC notification on spectacles, head covering, and recency.
Export and verify
Use the UPSC photo resizer, download the JPEG, and check dimensions before upload. Signature and photo are different slots — use the signature tool for the three-signature sheet.
