Resize photo to 20 KB

Shrink a phone photo to a JPEG under 20 KB. The tool starts at 300×400 pixels and 5–20 KB; change the width and height if your form prints an exact size, such as 200×230 for bank exams.

Hitting 20 KB with a full-size phone photo forces heavy compression and blur. Cutting the pixels first keeps the face sharp at a small file size.

What usually goes wrong

Squeezing a 4000-pixel photo straight into 20 KB, or starting from a screenshot or chat forward, gives blocky, soft results. A file below the form’s minimum fails too.

What this page checks

You set the output width, height and KB range. The tool crops to that ratio and adjusts JPEG quality until the file sits inside the range, then shows the final KB and pixels.

How to prepare the file

  1. Check the current official instructions for your exam or application.
  2. Choose the correct image and adjust the crop so the document fills the guide.
  3. Make the JPEG, then check the downloaded file’s dimensions and file size before uploading it.

This tool can check the exported JPEG dimensions and byte size. It cannot confirm identity, image recency, face position, background rules, handwriting, or acceptance by the exam portal.
